July 6th

Camp on Tuesday was 'good'! Alex wore her blue and green tie-dye that we made over the weekend. They went to the pool and had arts and crafts. Apparently they made necklaces and skirts and a volcano. I'm thinking maybe a hawaiian theme is coming up--I'll keep you posted. I think the volcano was made in Engineering and Alex said it was gooey and sticky. They also went boating for their water adventure--she said it was fun.

The counselor (or maybe the "pool lady" who still doesn't have a name) said she is doing well in the pool (holds on to the side and kicks). She strolled over carrying her bag herself at pick-up time (c'mon Luke, step it up!), wearing her sunglasses, [always too cool for school], with her new tie dye on, eating a box of raisins. She was also wearing wet and muddy sneakers, however, and when we asked how they got so dirty she replied 'from the dirt'. Duh. We had to throw them in the wash last night, they were a beautiful shade of dark brown. Nice.

She drank a whole bottle of water, thankfully. She said she had fun and played with the girls and the boys, who also have remained nameless (so far). Although apparently one of the girls is allergic to marshmallows and one of the girls isn't allergic to marshmallows but she doesn't like them. Alex seemed to be aghast at this information and also seemed to feel sad for them. As usual, she did not know what the other kids ate for lunch. Or snack for that matter. Which I guess is a good thing since she does not appear to feel slighted that she doesn't eat what they eat.

Today is archery day so fingers crossed for her safe return!
