(yes, this will be relevant later)....When Alex was picked up yesterday she said "dad, this is Bumbo." and pointed to a child standing near her. Jeff asked if Bumbo was her friend and she said "No. He's a boy."
Now onto yesterday....
She only ate 1 tiny piece of (cheese-less) pizza (I packed 2) during lunch and had her pudding during snack time which means she left over her strawberries, oranges, raisins and juice. It was not a good day for fruit. Although, she did get a banana during snack time since the kids got ice cream and the counselors must have felt bad--poor Alex.
As far as activities, they did "a lot of skits" (when I asked what kind of skits she said duck, duck splash and something about doggies). Hmmm. She made a necklace (instead of having archery since the field has no shade so they cancelled it). There was no swimming, unfortunately, because one of the kids got sick in the pool. Alex said "Bumbo drank too much water pool juice and throwed up in the pool". That Bumbo. I told you he'd be relevant today. Alex also informed us that Luke was going to tell Bumbo's father that he "throwed up" in the pool. And when Jeff said "he told Bumbo's dad?" she said "NO! He is GOING to tell Bumbo's dad. Not ye-et!" She got very excited about Bumbo yesterday. Stay tuned for further developments.
She claims she saw water animals during Environment, but she would not tell us which ones. I think she said she saw a bunny so I think it might be time to go over water vs. land. Just sayin. ;) Her bathing suit and towel were soaked, despite not having swim. Alex said it was from duck duck goose so it's a good thing that the counselor informed us that they played duck duck splash or I'd be really confused. She also spent about a half an hour explaining the rules. "you go around and say duck, duck, duck, duck, duck, duck, duck....goose! and then duck, duck, duck, duck, duck, duck, duck...." and so on. For half an hour. Notably, but not surprisingly, her pockets (and shoes) were full of sand. At least she didn't bring home more rocks in her pockets or her backpack. She has been collecting rocks from camp and bringing them home. Maybe that's why Luke has to carry her bag.
Fingers crossed that she climbs the tower today....
