Thursday

Yes, I am on the ball today. I had fallen behind on TCR lately with work and everything else and it was starting to stress me out! So now I am trying to stay on top of it. Since I am off this week I can't use work as an excuse. We'll see if I can keep it up. Not bloody likely.

This morning, before camp, Alex put on her "super cool sunglasses" (her words, hence the quotation marks....) so she could rock-out on the drums. She asked if she could be in a band so she can be a rock star. Yes you can, Alex, yes you can.

I think she's already a rockstar but I am slightly biased....

We're looking past the fact that she kinda looks like an amputee in the first pic. Tyra would be all over her, but in this case I think the photographer might be to blame. I'll keep it in mind for future reference.

They got back late again today. Eventually most of them came back with new Luke. He said that Lauren (the English one who is probably Scottish) was taking her to the bathroom and they'd be back soon. Even though neither Alex nor her bag were present, new Luke produced the water bottle from somewhere. He's catching on! I guess he didn't want to sprint a third time. Way to plan ahead.

First they had senior counselor activity. Probably with Helen. They made crowns. Lauren said Alex did really well in the pool. She held her up for swimming and kicking, etc... So because her water bottle made it back, something else had to get lost. (story below)

We didn't hear anything about Tom's Trail. She said it was good. She won't talk about it. FIrst she said she doesn't know what they did and then she said she forgot. First rule....
She is GOOD. She cannot be broken.

They didn't do Water Adventure. We were told that the weather was "icky." By a counselor. So they hung out and played games instead. I have a feeling that the sandpit made a cameo. In Mini Adventure, they pitched a tent, crowded 13 of them inside and told ghost stories. Come to think of it, Alex said her crown has a ghost on it. I will investigate.

Jeff looked through Alex's bag (as he always has to do since stuff is always missing). Her cute hippo towel was missing. Dammit new-Luke!! The counselors looked at Jeff with a "Seriously?" look. Alex knew that she left it at the pool so off they went. On the way they passed several counselors, all of whom knew Alex. They passed Robin, who either owns or runs the camp, or both. She saw Alex, commented on how dirty she was and said "you must have had fun." Jeff told her that this was a relatively clean day for Alex. And it was.

They then went for a stroll across the campus, into the Pool area, and went inside. One of the girls hanging out in the pool office remembered putting the towel in a laundry bin. It was actually there. True story.

Alex was hungry and asked Jeff what I was making for dinner. Jeff didn't want to lead with 'korean steak lettuce wraps' because Alex is sort of hostile to steak. So Jeff told her it was some sort of lettuce wrap and yummy rice. She said that she wanted chicken dinosaurs and promised that she would not just eat the outside of them.** She wouldn't get out of the car. Jeff eventually got her out to empty the sand from her shoes and she told him to go inside and see what was for dinner. She said that she wouldn't go inside if she didn't like what it was. I'm serious. But because I am so awesome (and not at all coincidentally) I had already made her dinosaur chicken and curly fries and it was ready by the time they got home. Crisis averted.

Where's my chicken?!

**"I'm only eating the skin, so the chicken's up for grabs."
